Catch gives me peace of mind and security. I can open my emails without fear of being scammed. I would suggest especially the elderly that they subscribe to Catch. I feel the elderly , me included are more susceptible and we tend to trust people because we were raised in a generation where we could trust people. Catch is intuitive and easy to understand and use
This app is excellent! It adds security and gives a peace of mind knowing that there is an additional tool that helps protect me from scams. I wasn't sure at first whether it was something that I would actually benefit from or whether it would be cumbersome to navigate and understand. I quickly learned that it is very intuitive and easy to understand and use. As scams become more complex and appear more realistic, I can't think of a single person that would not benefit from this app.

It's like having a tech-savvy guardian angel
I'm usually wary of "miracle apps," but this one actually impressed me. I figured scam protection software would be complex and annoying, but this is as smooth as my favorite streaming app. It seamlessly integrates with my inbox, quietly flags potential threats, and even explains why they're suspicious. Honestly, it's like having a tech-savvy guardian angel for my emails. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who values online security (and sanity).

Catch is a God send
I am responsible for looking after the welfare of a cherished great-aunt of mine who lives in another city. She is fiercely independent and I don't want to encroach on her feeling that way. But I must have her protected from on-line predators and Catch is a God send. I have gotten her to "buy in" by telling her (which has the added benefit of being the truth!) that I subscribed for our whole family and she is included in the subscription. Win win all around.

Are all emails scanned by Catch?
All non-promotional emails are scanned by Catch. By default Gmail labels promotional (marketing) emails so we skip these emails since Gmail has already reviewed the email.
If an email is not scanned, the user can manually scan it by clicking into the email and clicking the “Scan Email” button on the side panel.

Are all emails labelled?
Almost all emails will be labelled "Low Risk", “Caution” or “Scam”. Emails that Gmail identifies as promotional, are not labelled. If you wish to scan an email that is unlabelled, open the side panel and click "Scan Email".
What are the labels and what do they mean?
Upon scanning an email Catch leaves low risk emails with no label and labels every dangerous email that hits your inbox as one of the following:
🛡️Low Risk: This labels appears when an email has been scanned and Catch hasn't identified anything of concern. Scammers are constantly trying new things, stay vigilant even with a Low Risk label.
⚠️Caution: This label appears when a legitimate email contains sensitive information such as One Time Passwords and Multi-factor Authentication codes which can still be used tactically by scammers. This label will be accompanied by associated Red Flags and Next Steps in the side panel.
🛑 Scam: This label appears when an email is detected as a scam and it is implied to delete immediately. This label will be accompanied by associated Red Flags and Next Steps in the side panel.
How accurate is Catch’s detection system?
Nothing in cyber security is ever 100% but Catch’s number one priority is to get as close to 100% as possible. We measure success by how many scam emails we label as a “Scam”. This is known as “Scam Recall.” To date this number is 98% .
In order to be extra careful, we may on occasionally mark non-scam emails as “Scam” or “Caution”. This is known as “Scam Precision.” We are working tirelessly to continue to improve our model to ensure that both recall and precision are maximized.
Does Catch store my data?
Emails identified as Scam are encrypted and securely stored in our backend AWS (Amazon Web Services) database. This storage is essential to protect other Catch users from similar malicious emails and enhance the overall safety of our platform. Catch DOES NOT store emails labeled Low Risk or Caution.
What if I think an email is a scam?
Catch is here to help! Use the “Send to Catch for Review” button in the side panel. The Catch team will reach out ASAP with an answer on if the email is a scam or not.
